About Me

Hi! My name is Gwenaelle (Gwen) Du-Thumm and I am a 3D artist and character animator, recently graduated with highest honors from Pratt Institute with a BFA in 3D Animation and a minor in Film/Video. In addition to 3D work, I specialize in character designs, illustration, and look development, leveraging a strong foundation in traditional drawing and painting.

With a passion for all things fantasy and an enthusiasm for art history, I have an eye for the small details and am always eager to tackle a technical challenge. I am skilled in Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Marvelous Designer, and the Adobe Creative Suite. I am currently looking for roles in animation, film, games, and themed entertainment where I can contribute my skillset and continue to grow!

3D Generalist/Filmmaker

Responsible for all aspects in the creation of three 3D animated short films: "Bubby and Son" (May 2023), "Kindling" (Dec 2023), and "Immémoriale" (May 2025).

2024 - 25 (Vice President 23 - 24)

Spearheaded organization of club events, managed the executive board and delegated tasks. Handled administrative tasks and coordinated with Pratt's Office of Student Involvement. Assisted in planning the annual trip to Ottawa International Animation Festival in collaboration with the Pratt Keyframe Animation Club.

LG Wonderbox Showcase

Fall 2023

Worked collaboratively on a student-led team of five to produce an original short 3D animation expressing "Life's Good" for entry to the LG Wonderbox Showcase.

Recognition

Best 3D BFA in Show | 2025

My thesis film "Immémoriale" screened at Pratt Institute's "Best of Animation" showcase and was awarded best in show of the 3D undergraduate films.

Finalist, New York Animation Film Awards | 2024

"Bubby and Son" was selected as a finalist for the New York Animation Film Awards in the category of Best Animation Student Film.

Second Place Winner, Animation Category | Josiah Media Festival | 2024

"Bubby and Son" was awarded the second place prize in the animation category at the 2023 Josiah Media Festival, produced by URBAN-15 group in San Antonio, Texas. 55 films were selected to screen at the festival out of 3,000 submissions.
